Planted in Sauvignon, this cuvée is produced with vines from 35 to 50 years of age on very steep hillsides of clay-limestone nature called Terres Blanches (terroir of Kimmeridgian marls). A careful aging in barrels gave birth to this wine with aromas of red and black fruits harmoniously mixed with chocolate nuances. We find the woody notes (touch of roasting) well married to the fruit in an elegant mouth, well structured by tight tannins.
A markedly floral-suffused nose expresses additional notes of honeysuckle, citrus and sandalwood. There is a much finer and more mineral-driven palate impression to the vibrant medium weight flavors that culminate in a balanced, refined and lingering finish. The high proportion of 1er juice is quite evident. Score: 89-92 Tasted: Jun 15, 2016 Drink: 2021+ Issue: 63 Outstanding
The color is pale gold with green tones. The nose is delicate with ripe fruits such as pear and white peach. It also has complex notes of beeswax, vanilla and flint. The mouth has a fresh and fruity beginning, is fleshy and robust, and has good structure. It is balanced between fruity roundness and mineral firmness. A very long ending
