Trás-os-Montes - Quick Wines

Trás-os-Montes is a Portuguese wine region located in the Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro region. The entire wine region is entitled to use the Vinho Regional designation Transmontano VR, while some areas are also classified at the higher Denominação de Origem Controlada (DOC) level under the designation Trás-os-Montes DOC. VR is similar to the French vin de pays and DOC to the French AOC. Located in the northeastern corner of Portugal, the Trás-os-Montes region has vineyards across a wide range of altitudes that produces a vast spectrum of wine. The vineyards in the cooler high altitude produces wines that are light bodied while the lower altitude region produces full bodied, highly alcoholic wines. One of the first wines to gain international attention was the semi-sweet, semi-sparkling wine known as rosado.[2] Douro DOC, which is famous as the Port wine region, is also located in Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro and could use the former Trás-os-Montes VR designation.[2] However, with the creation of a separate Duriense VR, Douro vineyards are now separate from both the Trás-os-Montes DOC and Transmontano VR.

ALTO DO JOA Rosé 2019 - 75cl

This is a great Rosé different from the “normal” rosés, with reserve characteristics, offering a reddish color and complex and complete aromas. In the mouth, a dry wine where you can notice a slight sweetness at the beginning that fades, giving way to milder flavors and with some persistence. It is perfect to accompany foods with different flavors such as Sushi, Mullets, salads, and being a gastronomic wine it should be served between 6ºC and 8ºC for maximum enjoyment and tasting.

ALTO DO JOA Branco 2018 - 75cl

ALTO DO JOA Branco is a tanning wine (Orange Wine), singular and unique, typically reserve, offering a more austere and complex aroma that proves to be dry, fresh and persistent, with a very present acidity so it should be drunk among 10ºc and 12ºc, positioning it as a guard wine with excellent evolution in bottle, as well as a gastronomic wine, accompanying very spicy and singular meals such as cheese, kid, suckling pig, cabidela rice, among others.
