NAME

Bordeaux BPHR Rouge is made from a blend of wines produced in the most important wine region of Bordeaux, under the Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur appellations.

LOCAL

Each grape variety used in the blend of Bordeaux BPHR Rouge comes from a specific terroir. Merlots planted on clay-limestone soils give a nice concentration of fruit and roundness to the wine, Cabernets Sauvignons and Cabernets Francs, planted on sandy-gravelly soils give fine wines with very supple tannins.

VINTAGE

2015

The 2013 vintage was generally rainy and cold. He asked Bordeaux winegrowers for a lot of subtlety and technology to succeed in creating a great wine. Thanks to a rather hot and sunny summer, the red grapes presented a good start in ripening. The wines produced by Baron Philippe de Rothschild have once again asserted their identity. The yields are low but the presence on the ground and the know-how of the oenologists of Baron Philippe de Rothschild have enabled the production of wines that are both fruity and dense on the palate.

VINIFICATION

The harvest is destemmed and crushed, then put in tanks for an alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature in order to preserve all the expression of the fruit. The malolactic fermentation which follows takes place in vats and makes it possible to round and soften the wines.

BREEDING

The wines are aged in tanks protected from oxygen before being bottled at the Center Vinicole Mouton Cadet. Every care is taken to preserve the aromas of the fruit and the typicity of the wine.

CEPAGES
